Wermland Opera is celebrating its 50th anniversary by officially opening its new venue, a renovated former bakery known as “Bageriet.” This marks both a look back at the institution’s rich history of groundbreaking productions and a step forward into new artistic territory.
To mark the occasion, the orchestra is hosting an inaugural concert — performed ten times to accommodate as many visitors as possible — featuring highlights from past performances alongside brand-new music. The performance features Wermland Opera’s own soloists AnnLouice Lögdlund, Cecilie Nerfont Thorgersen, and Christer Nerfont, along with guest artists and an expanded orchestra. Joining them is director, dancer, and performance artist Charlotte Engelkes, who curates and stages the celebration. Conductor is Hans Ek.
